ImageIt is the dominant orthographic object on the border of Panonian lowlands towards the mountain areas of Balkan Peninsula. The diverse geological rock composition, with rich fossil fauna, makes Fruška gora an area of European significance. The base of the ecosystem are woods, which cover 90% of the total area of the National Park (domination of Sessile Oak and Hornbeam). The low vegetation is primarily comprised of steppe species of relict character, which include numerous species protected as natural rarities such as pheasant's eyes, pasque flower, dwarf's beard, giant feather grass and other endangered plant species.

The monasteries of Fruška gora comprise a unique set of densely distributed monasteries founded between 15th and 18th century. There are 18 preserved monasteries and they are: Privina glava, Divša, Beočin, Fenek, Mala Remeta i Velika Remeta, Hopovo (new and the old) Obed, Kuveždin, Petkovica, Jazak, Rakovac, Grgeteg, Šišatovac, Besenovo, Vrdnik (Ravanica), Sretenjska church in Krušedol and the Krušedol monastery.
There are two other monasteries that disappeared due to time and a set of historical condition. These monasteries are Obeda near Kupinova and Stari Jazak. Church and lodgings of Monastery Besenova were razed to the ground in the Second World War. This assembly also includes the Sretenje church in the village of Krušedol, which was a female monastery but was turned into a village church.
